Show tonight, and a review of “Bogus Rimshots from the Fourth”

We’re playing the Smell tonight and it’s going to be awesome! Our buddies Aunt Dracula had to be removed from the bill because they had a tour van tragedy, but fortunately Essay has stepped onto the bill in their stead.

Today, International Tapes ran a nice review of our compilation album, Bogus Rimshots from the Fourth. We really appreciate it. Buy the album on cassette from Kill/Hurt. You can also buy it on iTunes from Manimal Vinyl.

Review and Pictures from the Echo + Saturday at the Smell

We had a really nice time on Tuesday, playing at the Echo on a show put on by I Promote Good Bands.  Suddenly prodigious (and quite entertaining) blogger “Lord Growing” wrote about the set on his blog.  Read the review here.

Our friend Carl took some pictures of us, and posted them on his Flickr page. You can view those here.

We have another cool show on the horizon, this one at the Smell. We’re playing with Baltimore’s Future Islands and Lower Dens as well as locals Superhumanoids (who ruled when we played with them at the Echo a few months ago). Here’s the Facebook event for that.

If you’re looking for something to do earlier in the day, our friends Big Whup (amongst others) play the Silverlake Jubilee.

Old timey pictures surface!

Our friend Bettina recently unearthed some photos from our Demolisten session from March of last year. Wow, look at how young we are! We’ve aged so much since these were taken that we’re hardly recognizable. Click here to take a look at the photos.

In other life-altering news, we’ve added a show on the night of May 22. It’s at the Smell and is with the bands Future Islands, Lower Dens, and Superhumanoids. Those of you who are down might also want to check out Big Whup and a bunch of our other friends at the Silverlake Jubilee that afternoon.

We won!

Thanks to everyone who helped us win the Deli Magazine‘s ‘Band of the Month’ poll, and also to our friends and fellow competitors Moses Campbell, Michael Nhat, and Wires in the Walls.

The above photo of the coolest kids in the world  is from Summer Fun Time Society’s photo booth at our Smell show on Saturday. Click here to see more pictures from the photo booth, which was part of Big Whup’s excellent record release party.

Show tonight, voting for us, pictures from Saturday, May 1st

Hey everyone!

Pizza! got nominated for an award over at the Deli Los Angeles. I believe that the award is for “best Los Angeles band in the whole world, entirely and forever” or something like that. If we win the award then we will receive a free mastering session, so it’s pretty worthwhile. Please click here and vote for us – you don’t even have to give them your email address!

In other news, we are accompanying So Many Wizards at their residency tonight at the Silverlake Lounge. The show is totally free, and it also features performances by Cobra Lilies and Roundabout. You oughtn’t miss it!

In case you don’t know what we look like, Clay TV has posted some photos of our most recent show, which took place on Saturday in an enclave of Atwater Village called “Frogtown.” There are good pictures here of a fun time, and the set also includes our great friends Kid Infinity.

FINALLY: Our next show after tonight is going to be a big one. Big Whup is releasing a seven-inch at the Smell, and we’ll be there along with So Many Wizards, 60 Watt Kid, DJs Vice Cooler and Kyle Mabson, the PAUS Facepainting Station, the Summer Fun Time Society Photobooth, and some excellent Vegan Chefs. This will be the place to be on May 1st! Go to Facebook to RSVP:
